Kadoro executes two sparkling events for HP

October 2008 saw Kadoro Events and Communications executing two lively events for the HP brand, managed by advertising agency Publicis.

“With the Roundhouse at Constitution Hill as the setting, the purpose of the function on 22 October was to update consumers on recent technological advancements to HP products,” explains newly-married, Kadoro MD Amanda Rogaly. The Time Line theme, branding and décor set the scene for a spellbinding journey from HP’s inception in a garage, through its development and growth into the empire it now is.

“The entrance to the venue resembled the same garage in which HP was founded and on arrival guests were greeted by food, colours, sights and sounds which can best be described as conventional,” explains Amanda. “But as they sipped cocktails against the backdrop of a sun setting sun on the Jozi skyline, the mood, effects, music and pace gradually began to change; as the night progressed the surrounding elements became more colourful, fantastic and edgy, portraying how HP and technology have transformed our world.”

The entertainment line-up included an exhilirating aerial performance by Mongolian-born artiste Tsogt, who gave a “sky’s the limit” physical demonstration of unbounded potential for imagination, growth and development.

Guests were able to take in HP’s latest product developments via a video presentation, as well as by viewing the time capsules positioned throughout the venue developed by Publicis. Upon departure they were presented with goodie bags cleverly crafted from recycled HP billboards – signifying the technology giant’s commitment to growth and meeting consumer needs, while also taking the environment into account.

“The second event at the Movida Nightclub in Rivonia on 28 October 2008 was hosted by HP as a gesture to thank suppliers, resellers and distributors for their support and to enjoy an evening of networking in a lively, fun environment,” says Amanda.

The Mardi Gras theme translated in to vivid décor in green, purple and gold – not forgetting feathers, beads and masks aplenty! On arrival guests were greeted by dramatic Mardi Gras characters and the sounds of a genuine honky tonk piano. While registering, they were issued with their Mardi Gras gear comprising masks, feather boas and beads – to set them up for an evening of theatrical proportions. The venue had been transformed into an animated Mardi Gras carnival venue, complete with casino lounge with customised fake currency and gambling chips, croupiers and tables to keep everyone entertained.

Apart from the magnificent food, cocktails and lucky draws, guests were wowed with genuine mardi gras dance performances choreographed by Glenda Piemer, who has recently taken the corporate dance market by storm with her extraordinary energy, ideas and crossover dance styles. Once the DJ got started, guests partied the night away, having enjoyed an absolutely fabulous line-up of entertainment and hospitality.
